New Website Comps

Monday, March 30th, 2009

We decided on a new direction for the website, which broke out of the traditional gallery layout.

Here were by initial comps for the new direction:
comp-1-1

Gallery – the nodes on the 3D spline represent images

comp-1-2

Rollover one of the nodes, to see the image

comp-1-3

Click on the image, and it will be viewable in 3D.

After talking with Sinan, we decided it should be more minimalist, so I came up with:

phil2-small

and Sinan revised that to:

sinan2-small

Then, we talked to Adam, and he made a few suggestions.  My revised comps after that:

phil3-small

phil3-2-small

And Sinan’s:

sinan3-small1

We”ll probably go through one more round of revisions, but the basic idea is fairly finalized.  The logo is also still in progress, so the one we used in the designs is fpo.

Initial Comp Designs

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

Here is our first comp direction for the website gallery. We decided to go in a lighter feel. This will keep each uploaded image from being weighed down or having it become too affected by the over all website design. Instead this direction will allow each piece to shine.

Brush Stroke Inspiration

Monday, January 12th, 2009

As the research for this new application has been getting more and more in depth for both the design and technical side, I have decided to kick off this spirit of research by posting a collage of image research for brush stroke directions:
